Israel Renews Artillery Strikes on Southern Lebanon, Including Ali al-Taher Hill

According to IRNA, carried by Ecoiran, the Israeli military renewed artillery strikes early Monday, 19 Mordad 1405 (August 10, 2026), on Ali al-Taher hill in Lebanon's Nabatieh district and on the area between the villages of Deir Seryan and al-Tayyibah in southern Lebanon. Citing Al Mayadeen, the report said the fresh strikes came less than 24 hours after Israeli artillery hit four villages in Nabatieh province on Sunday, 18 Mordad. Israeli fighter jets had also flown over the Bekaa Valley and Mount Lebanon on Sunday morning, with Israeli drones over Beirut's southern suburb.
The renewed strikes come as a Lebanese diplomat said there is no plan for a new round of US-mediated Lebanon-Israel talks in Rome before the end of summer at the earliest, after a seventh round of talks was held a few days ago. US and Israeli officials have demanded Hezbollah withdraw from the Ali al-Taher heights, while the Lebanese delegation has rejected Israeli claims that strikes have targeted only military infrastructure.
