Mining Exploration Licence Applications Reopen in Three Provinces

Vajihollah Jafari, deputy minister for mines and mining industries at Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, said on Saturday, 26 September 2026 (4 Mehr 1405), that applications for mining exploration licences have resumed on the new platform of the "Cadastre" system, as a pilot in the provinces of Razavi Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and North Khorasan.

He said the process will be rolled out nationwide once the pilot has been completed and evaluated, so that exploration applications are filed and processed through the new system. Jafari said the step is part of the mining sector's strategic plan to organize its digital infrastructure and improve transparency.
