Mohsen Rezaei: Not a Single Drop of Oil Will Be Exported if Economic War Continues
24 August 2026 · 2 months ago
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, wrote on social media early Monday, Shahrivar 2, 1405 (August 24, 2026), that if the US economic war against Iran continues, not a single drop of oil will be exported, neither through the Strait of Hormuz nor from any other point in the Persian Gulf. He added that Iran will treat any country's participation in or support for this economic war as an act of war. The warning came after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to Mehr News Agency, claimed Washington was launching the "biggest economic attack" in its history against Iran on Monday morning, aimed at cutting Iran's vital economic arteries. Bessent warned that countries continuing to trade with Tehran would also face a decisive response from the US government. Bessent had earlier, on Thursday, Mordad 29 (August 20), told CNBC that Washington would impose the "toughest sanctions in history" on Iran.
