According to Ecoiran, citing Hamshahri Online, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (20 Mordad 1405) that Doha has received positive responses from Iran and Oman on their ongoing talks over the Strait of Hormuz. He said the negotiations have reached an advanced stage and are now at a sensitive point. Al-Ansari added that Qatar, as mediator, wants the waterway reopened as soon as possible and supports any mechanism that guarantees its security and freedom of navigation. The remarks follow weeks of consultations between Tehran and Muscat over a safe shipping route through the strait and could affect the trajectory of global oil prices.
