Qatar's benchmark QE General index rose 0.34 percent, or 34.5 points, to 10,038.17 on Monday 27 July 2026. Despite the daily gain, the index is down 2.48 percent over the past month and 10.77 percent compared with the same period last year. Its all time high of 14,931.08 was recorded in April 2022.

The annual decline of more than 10 percent comes as Qatar remains a major exporter of liquefied natural gas through the Strait of Hormuz, where disruption feeds directly into the revenues of its listed companies.

Qatar is also one of the two mediating countries behind the proposed negotiation plan between Iran and the United States. Qatar's inflation rate was reported at 2.20 percent in May 2026 and its interest rate at 4.35 percent in June 2026.
