SATBA Requires Lender's Letter Before Reviewing Renewable Power Financing Requests
28 October 2026 | yesterday
Iran's renewable energy agency SATBA will review financing requests for renewable power projects only after receiving a letter from the lender, according to a procedure announced by the Energy Ministry and reported by Mehr News Agency on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 (6 Aban 1405). The condition covers financing from banks' own resources, development funds and other money-market instruments.
SATBA said correspondence sent directly by investors will not be considered in its loan-review process; the lender must send the letter. This changes the administrative route to project financing, but it does not itself approve or disburse a loan for any project.
