Securities Regulator's Data Show Strong Retail Participation in the Week to 1 Mehr

Data from the market supervision department of Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization show that in the trading week ending 23 September 2026 (1 Mehr 1405), 1,116,407 accounts traded in the stock market, of which 1,113,904 were individuals and 2,503 institutions. According to Boursenews on Sunday, 27 September (5 Mehr), this is the second week in a row that active shareholders have exceeded one million accounts; in the week ending 16 September (25 Shahrivar), the figure was estimated at 1.19 million.

In the same week, individuals accounted for 2,385,941 billion rials of equity trading (69.2 percent), institutions for 382,575 billion rials (11.1 percent), and the market development and stabilisation funds for 205,394 billion rials (5.9 percent). Chemicals, basic metals and banks together accounted for 47 percent of trading value.
