Sugar exports made conditionally permitted as Iran's Trade Promotion Organization notifies Customs
29 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Iran's Trade Promotion Organization has notified Iran Customs of a circular approving exports of sugar on a conditionally permitted basis. The circular was reported on Tuesday 6 Mordad 1405 (28 July 2026).
According to the text of the circular, the decision rests on letter no. 605262 dated 30 Tir 1405 from the acting deputy for trade development at the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, and on clause 3 of the resolutions of the nineteenth session of the Working Group on Food Security and Regulation of the Agricultural Goods Market, set out in the same ministry's letter no. 512969 dated 10 Tir 1405. The approval covers sugar exports under tariff lines 17019100, 17019900 and 17029090.
A conditionally permitted designation means exports are not banned but are tied to specified conditions and permits. Conditional liberalisation of a food item's exports typically follows an assessment by the market regulation working group that the domestic supply and demand balance for that good is favourable.
