Tehran Equities Close Saturday Under Broad Selling Pressure

The Tehran Stock Exchange main index closed down 1.91 percent on Saturday, 17 October 2026, and its equal-weight gauge also fell. Mehr reported substantially more securities in sell queues than buy queues at its snapshot and retail outflows from equities and equity funds. Donya-e-Eqtesad likewise reported that a large part of the market finished in the red. The Farabourse index also fell that day, but it is a separate gauge, not Tehran's main index. Sahmino's recorded session reading also shows a decline for the Tehran index.
