The Tehran Stock Exchange's main index closed on Wednesday 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405) down 33,911 points at 5,075,000, entering a corrective phase after four consecutive sessions of gains. The index had closed on Tuesday 28 July at 5,109,000.
The 0.67 percent fall in the main index was not matched across the rest of the market: the equal weighted index rose 0.44 percent on the same day to 1,432,861, and the Iran Fara Bourse index gained 0.26 percent to close at 40,968. The divergence indicates that selling pressure on the day was concentrated in the market's large capitalisation names.
The figures refer to the close of trading on Wednesday 29 July 2026. Wednesday is the last working day of the week on the Tehran exchange, and the next session is due on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad).
