Tehran Stock Exchange closed the week ending Thursday, August 6, 2026 (15 Mordad 1405) with its main index up about 7 percent and fresh all time highs, the market's second straight green week in Mordad. According to Donya e Eqtesad, the main index (TEDPIX) crossed the 5.4 million point mark for the first time and the equal weight index reached the 1.5 million range, with its year to date return climbing to 61 percent. Real money investors poured in more than 13 trillion tomans over just two days of the week, and on some days as much as 97 percent of listed symbols closed higher.
Donya e Eqtesad attributed the rally mainly to hopeful news about a possible deal and reduced political risk tied to the US Iran war. The paper also reported that 440 listed companies recorded combined revenue of more than 1,150 trillion tomans for the Iranian month of Tir (ended July 22), up 113 percent from the same month a year earlier. Agricultural products, dairy, tile and ceramics, precious metals, pharmaceuticals and petroleum products posted the strongest results, while steel, petrochemicals and cement remained under pressure from energy costs and supply disruptions.
