1 August 2026 · 2 months ago
The Tehran Stock Exchange main index closed on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405) down 20,435 points, or 0.4%, easing from 5,075,000 points to 5,054,000 points. On the same day the equal-weight index rose by more than 6,694 points to 1,439,000, its highest closing level on record; its intraday peak of 1,442,000 was set in the middle of the same session.
The heaviest drag on the main index came from the Shepna, Shebandar and Parsan symbols, with the drilling and refined petroleum products group posting the largest sectoral decline, while Femeli, Kegol and Tasico kept the index from falling further. During the session 439 symbols traded in positive territory against 460 in negative territory, with buy and sell queues numbering 225 and 139 respectively.
The divergence between the main index and the equal-weight index indicates that larger capitalisation symbols have been more sensitive to the tense political and military backdrop.
