Tehran's equity market closed higher on Monday 27 July 2026. The main index rose 49,738 points, about 0.99 percent, to 5,052,068 points, while the equal-weighted index gained 14,864 points, roughly 1.07 percent, to 1,408,367 points.
Market breadth favoured buyers: according to Tejarat News, 74 percent of listed symbols traded in positive territory and the volume and value of retail trading were at healthy levels. The number of trades at the close was recorded at 679,531.
The equal-weighted index outpacing the main index indicates that small and mid-cap shares drew at least as much interest as the large caps, a pattern usually associated with a stronger presence of retail traders.
