Iran's domestic gold market fell on Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405), a decline recorded on several independent boards. Donya-e-Eqtesad reported the drop the same day and put the price of one gram of 18 carat gold at 18,168,000 toman.
The melted gold trading platform Milli showed one gram of 18 carat gold at 18,245,000 toman at 11:55 on Sunday, against a 24 hour high on the same board of 18,722,600 toman and a low of 18,233,000 toman. The traded 18 carat rate carried on Sahmino's prices page stood at 18,494,100 toman at 09:22 the same day, 1.47 percent below the previous day.
The differences between these figures reflect different pricing bases (melted gold, the 740 and 750 standards, and the traded rate), but the direction of travel is the same across all of them. The global backdrop was gold's retreat at the end of last week as the dollar firmed; the world ounce traded around $4,040 on Friday 31 July 2026 (9 Mordad 1405).
