US President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday morning (US Eastern time), October 2, 2026 (10 Mehr 1405), while heading to a campaign rally in Alabama, that he was not going to impose a ban on US diesel exports, after saying on Wednesday he was weighing the idea very seriously with Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. According to Khabaronline, citing IRNA, Trump declined to detail Washington's next move on Iran when asked. Separately, Al Jazeera reported that G7 nations, under pressure from the Trump administration which had threatened a full US diesel export ban, agreed to release their oil and diesel reserves, a move that eased crude prices. Sahmino's own price data show Brent crude trading near 102.25 dollars a barrel on Saturday morning, October 3 (11 Mehr), down about half a percent from the previous day. The development follows weeks of debate in Washington over the export ban, which intensified in late September as US diesel prices neared a record 6.51 dollars a gallon.
