According to Oilprice.com, in a report published Friday, August 14, 2026 (23 Mordad 1405), Ust Luga, Russia's top port for oil and other commodity exports from the Baltic Sea, caught fire early Friday following an overnight Ukrainian drone attack. Alexander Drozdenko, governor of Russia's Leningrad region, said on Telegram that a fire had broken out after the strikes and that firefighters were working to extinguish it; in a later post he said the consequences of the attack had been fully eliminated and there were no casualties.\n\nThis was the second Ukrainian drone attack on Ust Luga since early July. Ukraine has intensified drone strikes on Russian energy infrastructure this year, including refineries and supply routes; on Thursday, Gazprom's Neftekhim Salavat refinery in the Urals was also hit. The report said Russia's diesel and gasoil exports fell to just 80,000 barrels per day in the first seven days of August, the lowest in several years, pushing Russia to import fuel, including gasoline from India.
