The US Treasury Department added 10 individuals and companies to its sanctions list on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, over alleged ties to procuring weapons and parts for Iran's military, Al Jazeera reported, citing an official Treasury statement. The targeted individuals and firms are based in China, Pakistan, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia, with three of the designated entities located inside Iran.

The action is part of "Operation Economic Outcast," a campaign US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced in August 2026 to further restrict Iran's access to global markets. Among the Chinese entities sanctioned were Hong Kong based EC Mojo Technology Co Ltd and one of its representatives, accused of supplying electronic components to Iran's military and attempting to evade sanctions and export controls. The Treasury said the action "further degrades the Iranian regime's ability to reconstitute its weapons programs and increases the costs for those who choose to aid Tehran's military procurement efforts."
