16 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control on Wednesday, July 15, sanctioned seven individuals and entities over their alleged role in an international network procuring weapons for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to the Treasury, the network used foreign aviation and transport firms, financial conduits and travel coordinators to obscure the IRGC's role in procurement and to move material and personnel.
Those designated include Behrouz Namazi, general director of the Tehran-based Nika Jet Company; Nigeria-based Vanguard Tactical Supply; Italy-based Dounia Ettaib; Russia-based Avratek; and two Russian nationals. The action was taken under Executive Order 13382 and builds on earlier designations of May 8 and June 10, 2026, announced as tensions in the Strait of Hormuz intensified.
