American Airlines reported its second-quarter 2026 results on Thursday, 23 July, posting record revenue of 16.7 billion dollars, up 16.3 percent year over year and the highest quarterly revenue in the company's history.
GAAP net income was 71 million dollars, or 0.11 dollars per diluted share, while adjusted net income was 99 million dollars, or 0.15 dollars per diluted share. Strong demand and execution offset nearly half of the more than 2.2 billion dollar year-over-year increase in fuel expense. Chief Executive Robert Isom said revenue growth of more than 16 percent exceeded the company's initial expectations.
