Another ADNOC Tanker Was Attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday Evening
15 August 2026 | 2 months ago
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said one of its vessels was attacked on Friday evening, August 14, 2026 (23 Mordad 1405), while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to ISNA, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad and citing the UAE's official news agency WAM, ADNOC said the attack caused no casualties and that the situation was brought under control after the incident.
It was the third reported attack on ADNOC vessels in the Strait of Hormuz in under two days. The UAE had earlier said two other ADNOC vessels were attacked earlier the same Friday while transiting the same waterway, calling it piracy. The UAE Foreign Ministry blamed Iran for those attacks, though Tehran has not officially responded to the allegations.
