Saeed Shojaei, deputy minister for planning, innovation and smart systems at the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, announced new decisions on power supply to small industries in a television interview on Tuesday 6 Mordad 1405 (28 July 2026).
He said a meeting attended by Ministry of Energy officials and a representative of the president agreed to add between 300 and 400 megawatts to the energy quota for small industries. On that basis, in 48 priority industrial towns that had faced more than two days of energy restriction per week, the restriction falls to one day. It was also agreed that, in cooperation with the Supreme Labour Council, Friday would be treated as a working day and the associated employer overtime payment adjusted.
On foreign currency allocation to large industries, Shojaei said the process of increasing resource allocation is under way but has not yet produced a tangible result. He added that the first layer of the reconstruction package for damaged units was notified last week, comprising a 100 hemat credit line dedicated to reconstruction, foreign currency murabaha sukuk and special deposit certificates. He said the credit line must first be approved by the Central Bank's high council and remains some distance from implementation.
