Bitcoin whale accumulation hits six month high as large wallets grow 7.1% in eight weeks
11 August 2026 · 2 months ago
According to Arzdigital, citing analytics firm Santiment, the number of wallets holding at least 10,000 bitcoin, known as whales, has reached 90, the highest level in six months. The report said the number of these large wallets grew 7.1 percent in the past eight weeks alone, and since July 29 wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 bitcoin have added a combined $1.5 billion to their holdings. Santiment attributed the trend to retail investors exiting the market following a $120 million theft from Coldcard hardware wallets and a further delay, to September, of a US Senate review of a digital asset transparency bill. At the time of the report, bitcoin was trading around $63,800.
