5 September 2026 · last month
According to ISNA, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Saturday, September 5, 2026 (14 Shahrivar 1405), the Central Bank of Iran said it will issue the country's first ever Standard Parallel Forward Coin Notes on 18 Shahrivar 1405 (September 9, 2026). The new financial instrument is intended to widen investment access to the gold coin market and help contain the inflationary effects of liquidity growth.
Per the report, the notes carry a three month maturity: buyers purchase a coin at its market discovered price at issuance and can claim the coin's value three months later under the announced terms. The notes also carry a guaranteed minimum return, letting holders exercise a put option to sell at maturity for a price equal to 7 percent above the price discovered on the issuance day. Details on the offering method, pricing and trading terms are to be announced through the Central Bank's own information portal and the Iran Mercantile Exchange.
