26 August 2026 · last month
Circle, issuer of the second largest stablecoin, minted about $5 billion in USDC tokens over the seven days through Wednesday, August 26, 2026 (4 Shahrivar 1405). According to Arzdigital, citing on-chain data from the Solscan platform, a significant share of the new supply went to the Solana network, whose share of total 2026 USDC issuance has risen above 10 percent; even so, Ethereum still hosts about two thirds of the stablecoin's circulating supply. USDC's circulating supply now stands at about $74 billion, still well behind Tether's $183 billion market cap.
The move coincides with Circle's new role as technical developer for Hyperliquid exchange's $5 billion reserves. The report said USDC's 2025 transaction volume reached about $18.3 trillion, surpassing Tether's $13.3 trillion.
