26 August 2026 · last month
According to Ecoiran, citing the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union, in trading today, Wednesday, Shahrivar 4, 1405 (August 26, 2026), the global gold ounce rose to 4,657 dollars, but every domestic gold and coin item fell in price, bucking the global trend. Tehran's gold rate (mesghal) reached 93,550,000 tomans, 18 karat gold traded at 21,596,200 tomans per gram, and 24 karat gold at 28,792,000 tomans per gram.
In the coin market, every denomination also fell: the new design coin traded at 214,000,000 tomans and the old design coin at 213,000,000 tomans, while the half coin fell to 109,000,000 tomans, the quarter coin to 58,500,000 tomans, and the gram coin to 30,000,000 tomans. The simultaneous drop in domestic prices against a rising global ounce points to the domestic dollar rate pulling back from yesterday's record above 205,000 tomans.
