According to Ecoiran, reporting early Tuesday, 20 Mordad 1405 (August 11, 2026), citing Tehran's Gold and Jewelry Union, global spot gold rose to $4,410 an ounce. Separate data from TGJU recorded global gold at $4,414.36 an ounce over the same window, up $25.59, or more than 1 percent, from the previous day and about 4 percent higher than a week earlier. Tehran's domestic gold and coin market did not track the move, however, with every listed item posting a decline: Tehran's benchmark gold rate fell to 80,990,000 tomans, 18-karat gold to 18,696,700 tomans, and the new-design Bahar Azadi coin to 186,000,000 tomans, all down from the prior session. Ecoiran attributed the domestic market's divergence from the global gold rally mainly to the falling free-market dollar rate in Tehran, which posted its fifth consecutive daily decline on Monday to reach a one-month low.
