The US dollar index (DXY) fell to 99.91 on Thursday, 30 July 2026 (8 Mordad 1405), down 0.97 percent from the previous session. According to Trading Economics data, the index has lost 1.47 percent over the past four weeks and 0.06 percent over the past twelve months, and traded on Thursday at its lowest level in roughly six weeks.

The decline was broad across major pairs: EUR/USD rose 0.56 percent to 1.1532, GBP/USD gained 0.76 percent to 1.3473, USD/CHF fell 1.13 percent, and the Australian dollar strengthened 1.08 percent.

In Trading Economics' assessment, investors have scaled back expectations of an early rate increase following the press conference by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh. The implied probability of a 25 basis point hike at the September meeting has fallen to about 55 percent, from close to 80 percent before Wednesday's decision on 29 July. The dollar index reaches Iran's market through two channels: the global gold price, which anchors the valuation of domestic gold and coins, and currency expectations.
