In Tuesday, September 22, 2026 trading, Sahmino's own price data showed the US dollar in Tehran's free market rising 1.8 percent to 234,960 tomans. At the same time, the Emami gold coin gained 1.72 percent to 238,005,000 tomans and 18 karat gold rose 1.27 percent to 24,008,000 tomans per gram, as of 11:29 Tehran time. The domestic gains came even as global gold fell. Mehr News reported global gold down 0.56 percent to 4,319 dollars an ounce, and Sahmino's live price feed showed a further slide to 4,300.70 dollars, down 0.94 percent, at 11:28 Tehran time, citing expectations that the US Federal Reserve will hold interest rates higher for longer. The domestic dollar's rise offset, and even reversed, the pressure that falling global gold would normally put on Tehran's coin and gold prices.
