For a second straight day, Tehran's dollar and gold coin set fresh records, with the dollar near 235,000 tomans

According to Sahmino's own live data, Iran's free market US dollar rose about 0.9 percent from the previous day to reach 234,800 tomans by 11:30 Tehran time on Thursday, September 10, 2026 (19 Shahrivar 1405), while the full Emami gold coin gained about 0.8 percent to around 244 million tomans. The moves extend Wednesday, September 9's rally, when the dollar had reached 232,700 tomans and the Emami coin about 242 million tomans.

Alanchand.com, updated at the same 11:30 hour, put the free market dollar's sell rate at 235,800 tomans and its buy rate at 233,450 tomans. Donya-e-Eqtesad reported in an article published at 11:24 Tehran time that the dollar had reached 234,980 tomans and that gold and coin prices kept climbing. The global gold ounce traded around 4,412 dollars in the same window, close to its multi-week highs.
