The free market dollar passed 193,000 tomans on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405). The newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad reported the same day that the dollar stood at 193,800 tomans, an increase of 3,600 tomans on the previous day. According to market reports, the highest rate recorded in that day's trading was 193,820 tomans and the lowest was 192,480 tomans.
Sahmino's price board recorded the US dollar at 1,936,150 rials, or 193,615 tomans, at 18:29 Tehran time, up 34,150 rials, or 1.8 percent, from the previous day. The negotiated rate dollar was recorded at 1,935,950 rials at the same hour, up 1.78 percent.
The gap with the official rate remains wide: the Exchange Center's dollar remittance selling rate was recorded at 1,524,270 rials, or 152,427 tomans, at 08:02 the same day, up 0.22 percent. It is this rise in the exchange rate that pushed domestic gold and coin prices higher on Wednesday, even as the global gold ounce fell on the same day.
