Gold and Coin Prices Rise in Thursday's Opening Trading; Global Ounce at $4,633

According to the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union, as reported by Ecoiran on the morning of Thursday, 5 Shahrivar 1405 (August 27, 2026), every domestic gold and coin item rose in price from the previous report. The global gold ounce reached $4,633, and Tehran's gold rate (mesghal) rose to 93,680,000 tomans. Eighteen-karat gold climbed to 21,626,200 tomans per gram and 24-karat gold to 28,832,000 tomans per gram.
In the coin market, trading was also higher: the new-design Emami coin traded at 214,000,000 tomans and the old-design coin at 213,000,000 tomans. The half coin reached 109,000,000 tomans, the quarter coin 58,700,000 tomans, and the one-gram coin about 29,000,000 tomans. The rise across gold and coin comes on a day when, per Donya-e-Eqtesad, the Central Bank had been pulling the free-market dollar rate back from above 200,000 tomans since Tuesday through banknote supply operations.
