The price of an Emami gold coin in Tehran's market fell 2,480,000 tomans, or 1.06 percent, to 235,010,000 tomans by 11:29 local time on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 (1 Mehr 1405). Eighteen karat gold per gram also fell 1.72 percent, or 404,700 tomans, to 23,534,300 tomans. Meanwhile, the Emami coin's "bubble" (the gap between its market price and intrinsic gold value) widened by 1,469,500 tomans to 5,324,500 tomans, indicating the decline in global gold prices outpaced the drop in the domestic coin price. Donya-e-Eqtesad also reported falling gold and coin prices in Wednesday's trading.
