According to Eghtesad Online, citing the Tasnim news agency, average daily petrol consumption in Tir 1405 (roughly 22 June to 22 July 2026) reached 135 million litres, while average daily output, covering refinery production and blending combined, stood at 121 million litres. On that basis, the daily petrol shortfall in Tir was recorded at 14 million litres.
The same report said that across the average of the first four months of 1405, daily petrol consumption was 129 million litres against daily output of 115 million litres, leaving a daily shortfall of about 14 million litres over that period as well.
The report added that a review of petrol production and consumption data over the past eight years shows Iran has gone from being an exporter of petrol to an importer of the product, despite increases in production capacity.
