13 August 2026 | 2 months ago
Behnam Saeedi, a member of the presiding board of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in a televised interview carried by Mehr News on Thursday, August 13, 2026 (22 Mordad 1405), that Iran's ongoing talks with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz concern only a temporary shipping route, and that any agreement on that route does not mean the strait will fully reopen. He added that Hormuz will not reopen until the United States ends its naval blockade and meets the conditions Iran has set.
