Iran's deeds registry says yellow single-page title deeds remain legally valid and need not be replaced
26 July 2026 · 3 months ago
The spokesman for Iran's Deeds and Property Registration Organisation said on Sunday, 26 July 2026, clearing up questions that had been raised, that yellow single-page title deeds remain legally valid and that owners do not need to replace them.
The clarification follows speculation that older versions of the single-page deed had lost their validity. Single-page deeds replaced the older booklet ownership documents years ago, and their legal standing underpins property transfers, bank lending secured on real estate, and the registration of formal transactions.
Settling the question matters operationally for the housing market, because uncertainty over a deed's validity typically slows transactions and collateral valuation at notary offices and across the banking network.
