Kuwait's cabinet condemns drone attacks on the Abdali border crossing

Eghtesad Online reported late on Tuesday 28 July 2026 that Kuwait's cabinet issued a statement condemning drone attacks on the Abdali border crossing in the north of the country, describing them as a factor escalating tensions in the region.
The Abdali crossing is the main land crossing between Kuwait and Iraq and one of the goods transit routes in the northern Persian Gulf. Disruption to the region's land crossings typically raises the cost and time of moving goods and affects supply chains in neighbouring countries.
The statement was issued at a time when tensions in the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the region's trade routes are at the centre of attention in energy and maritime shipping markets.
