Seyyed Mohammad Hadi Sobhanian, head of Iran's National Tax Administration, said in remarks published by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Sunday, 8 Shahrivar 1405 (August 30, 2026), that more than 112,000 billion tomans in value-added tax levies were distributed to municipalities, rural district administrations, and nomadic affairs offices nationwide in the first four months of the Iranian year 1405.
The figure represents part of municipalities' and rural districts' share of the country's VAT revenue, which the tax administration calculates and transfers to local authorities monthly. Sobhanian released the figure alongside his separate announcement that the country collected nearly 800,000 billion tomans in total tax revenue in the first five months of the year.
