Mehdi Gholizad, deputy of the passenger transport office and fleet-renewal manager at Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, told Mehr News on September 20, 2026 (29 Shahrivar 1405) that under the scrap-for-import truck scheme, Article 59 clause "p" of the Seventh Development Plan law, orders for 4,000 trucks and tractor units were registered last year. He said more than 2,000 units have been imported into the country so far, with about 1,700 already cleared through customs. He added that the order-registration system's link was cut after the quota was filled, partly due to foreign-currency constraints and conditions following the 12-day war.
