According to Mehr News, Iran's Comprehensive Trade System announced on Saturday, September 19, 2026 (28 Shahrivar 1405) that the conditions for registering used-car import orders under Article 11 of the Automotive Industry Reorganization Law have been amended. Under the revision, an imported used car must be more than 3 years and less than 5 years old, meaning that in the 1405 Iranian year, only used cars from model years 2021, 2022 and 2023 may be registered and imported. The amendment replaces clause 7 of the previous notice on model-year conditions for used cars covered by Article 11.
