With the heat persisting and pressure on the power grid continuing, the Qom governorate announced that working hours for the province's executive bodies will run from 07:00 to 13:00 from Saturday, 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405), until further notice. According to Morteza Rahmannia, the governorate's deputy for management and resources development, the decision followed a circular from the Administrative and Recruitment Organisation and the governor's approval, and exempts operational service, health and medical, military, police and security units. Bodies must make up the lost hours through remote work, and bank operations in the province follow the decisions of Qom's banking coordination council.
Several provinces changed their hours for the same reason on Wednesday, 29 July 2026 (7 Mordad 1405). Offices, banks, insurers and non-governmental public institutions in Kermanshah and Kordestan provinces were closed, while in Markazi province executive bodies' hours were cut to 07:00 to 11:00. In all three, relief, medical and police services were exempted.
Closures and shortened hours at offices and banks affect settlement times and banking services in those provinces, which matters to market participants on trading days.
