Seyed Davoud Mousavi, deputy minister of industry, mines and trade for trade development, said on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 (14 Mehr 1405), that Iran's auto currency committee has approved a separate foreign currency quota for importing vehicle spare parts. He said a share of the currency allocated for importing fully built (CBU) or assembled (CKD) vehicles will now be set aside for spare parts, with a dedicated technical file created for this purpose. Mousavi added that any company receiving currency for spare parts is obligated to supply those parts throughout the after sales service period, since vehicles fall under Article 4 of Iran's Consumer Rights Protection Law covering after sales obligations.
