Tehran bourse ends a four-day rally as 2,204 billion tomans of retail money leaves equities

The Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) closed Wednesday, 29 July 2026 down 33,911 points, or 0.67 percent, falling from 5,109,000 to 5,075,000 points and ending four consecutive advancing sessions.
At the same time, 2,204 billion tomans of retail money left the equity market. That marks a reversal of direction, because through Tuesday, 28 July 2026 the market had recorded four straight days of retail inflows.
The session had a split character: the main index fell under selling pressure in large-cap symbols, while the equal-weight index moved higher. In other words, the decline came mainly from a retreat in the market's biggest companies rather than from the board as a whole.
