Tehran bourse falls again on Wednesday; the main index stays below 4.9 million points

The Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) closed on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, down about 31,000 points (0.63 percent) at 4,893,000, extending its decline to a fifth consecutive trading session. On Tuesday the index had closed at about 4,924,000 points.
The drop came on a day when the free-market dollar reached around 187,000 tomans and 18-carat gold entered the 18-million-toman channel, a sign of liquidity rotating toward parallel markets amid regional tensions. Selling pressure and an outflow of retail money have been the main drivers of the equity market's retreat in recent days.
