The Tehran Stock Exchange main index (TEDPIX) fell about 107,000 points (close to 2.2 percent) at the open on Saturday, 27 Tir 1405 (18 July 2026), slipping back into the 4.7 million point channel. By around midday the same day, according to Sahmino price data, the decline had deepened to roughly 2.5 percent and a level near 4,773,000 points, while the over-the-counter Iran Farabourse index (IFX) was also down about 2 percent.
Selling pressure was seen across most listed symbols, with reports indicating roughly two thirds of the market's tickers in the red. The banking, automotive, basic metals, chemical products, refining and investment company groups played the biggest role in the index's fall. The drop extended last week's downtrend and coincided with the Iran-U.S. military escalation and a fresh record for the free-market dollar around 192,000 tomans.
