Bitcoin falls to around $62,000 as crypto joins Monday's risk-off selloff

Bitcoin dropped below $63,000 on Monday, July 13, 2026, sliding to around $62,000, a decline of nearly 3% over 24 hours. The world's largest cryptocurrency, which had held up near $63,800 earlier in the day despite the escalating US-Iran conflict, lost that resilience in evening trade and joined a broad risk-off selloff alongside falling equities and precious metals.
Traders attributed the drop to a mix of geopolitical tension and concern over US consumer inflation data due Tuesday, along with expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates elevated. The total crypto market capitalization also fell about 3%.
