Bitcoin steadied above $64,600 on Thursday, August 6, 2026 (15 Mordad 1405), CoinDesk reported, up marginally on the day and 0.5 percent on the week after buyers defended a dip toward $62,500 earlier in the week. Ether rose more than 1 percent to $1,904, while XRP fell nearly 3 percent to $1.04. Separately, roughly $101 billion of stock in Elon Musk's SpaceX became tradable Thursday for the first time as its lockup period expired; the company holds 18,712 bitcoin, worth about $1.1 billion as of the end of June. The MSCI All Country World Index snapped a five-day rally to fall 0.2 percent, while South Korea's Kospi dropped 4.4 percent as chipmakers retreated. Alex Kuptsikevich of FxPro said in a note that bitcoin has gained momentum since Monday, when buyers stepped in during the dip toward $62,500 and pushed the price back above its 50-day moving average.
