Central Bank Raises Housing Deposit and Repair Loan Ceilings Funded by Priority Bonds

According to Iran's Central Bank, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (27 Mordad 1405) at 19:09 Tehran time, the Central Bank's High Council approved raising the ceilings on loans funded by priority certificate bonds for building and buying housing units, rental deposits, and repair (jaaleh) loans. Under the resolution, the ceiling for housing repair loans rises from 280 million to 400 million tomans.

The ceiling for housing deposit loans also rises: in Tehran from 300 million to 400 million tomans, in provincial capitals and cities with a population above 200,000 from 225 million to 300 million tomans, and in other areas from 150 million to 200 million tomans. The Central Bank said the resolution aims to support housing loan applicants, strengthen supply and demand in the housing sector, boost purchasing power, and support tenants.
