Iran's Trade Promotion Organization has notified the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration of approval for the export of chicken meat under a "conditionally permitted" classification. The circular was reported on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
Citing letter No. 577254 dated 15 July 2026 from the acting deputy for trade development at the Ministry of Agriculture, the circular approves the export of chicken cuts including legs, breast, shoulder and wings under tariff code 02071310, as well as uncut chicken meat in fresh or chilled pieces under tariff code 02071100.
The decision follows the export prohibitions listed in chapters 1 to 24 of Iran's export and import regulations. The spokesperson for parliament's agriculture committee had earlier said 3,260,000 tonnes of chicken meat were produced in Iran last year, of which 340,000 tonnes were surplus to domestic needs.
