Tehran gold union: the Emami coin rose 4.8 million toman over the week to 187.8 million toman

The head of the Tehran Gold and Jewellery Union said on Saturday 1 August 2026 (10 Mordad 1405), in remarks to ISNA, that Iran's domestic gold and coin market rose over the past week even as the global price fell. Nader Bazrafshan said the gold ounce dropped 19 dollars from the start of the week to Saturday, reaching 4,043 dollars, but a rising exchange rate pushed the domestic market up.
According to the figures given, a mesghal of 17 carat gold gained 2,220,000 toman to 81,300,000 toman, and a gram of 18 carat gold rose 514,000 toman to 18,770,000 toman. The new design Bahar Azadi (Emami) full coin gained 4,800,000 toman to 187,800,000 toman, while the old design coin rose 4,500,000 toman to 184,500,000 toman.
The half coin gained 1,100,000 toman to 95,300,000 toman, the quarter coin gained 1,000,000 toman to 53,300,000 toman, and the Central Bank one gram coin rose about 100,000 toman to 27,500,000 toman. The coin premium over its gold content reached about 4,600,000 toman over the same period, 100,000 toman wider than a week earlier.
