Tehran Stock Exchange's Main Index Crosses 6 Million Points for the First Time

Tehran Stock Exchange's main index (TEDPIX) crossed 6 million points for the first time in the market's history on Saturday, August 22, 2026 (31 Mordad 1405), climbing as high as 6,084,000 points before easing back slightly from the day's peak as selling picked up. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, the equal-weight index gained 1.85 percent the same day. Per Sahmino's own price data, the main index stood at 6,064,000 points at 11:29 a.m. Tehran time, up about 1.9 percent from Thursday's (29 Mordad) close of 5,952,000 points; tgju.org separately recorded the index at 6,084,659 points around the same time, consistent with Donya-e-Eqtesad's figure.
Among heavyweight stocks, Bank Mellat (Vabmellat) hit a buy queue and posted its highest closing price since 27 Khordad (June 17), while Iran Khodro (Khodro) also drew a buy queue and recorded its highest price since 1 Bahman (January 21). Mobarakeh Steel (Foolad) extended its rally to a fourth straight higher session while sitting in a buy queue. The break above 6 million points extends the bourse's fourth consecutive week of gains.
